Best Doodles 2008-2009 School Year
I have been doodling in class for as long as I can remember. There isn’t a piece of notepaper or handout I have touched that doesn’t have at least one sort of doodle on it, from full-size galleon to tiny “3-D” cube. My habit to doodle is more compulsive than fun (drawing helps me pay attention), but I’ll often produce stuff in the margins of classwork that I think is pretty neat.
I recently graduated college, meaning that the past academic year was my last where I’ll have hours (and reams of paper) a day to doodle. So, in celebration (or memoriam?) I looked through all my remaining papers and notebooks from the past year and have selected the best and worst to share.
I guess the images here look more “drawing” than “doodle”, but they were still made in an effort to stay awake and focused, so they’re doodles. Anyways, here are the best:
“Free Market: Export of Robots to Central America”
I almost always fail at my attempts to render jets, but robots are usually no problem.

“Latin America vs. the Martians”
Porfirio Diaz had bigger problems than leading his people – he had to save them!

“Cinema Buddies”
This is what I think aliens look like – particle men and vampires.

“College Tuition”
This was a reminder to myself to do the homework, and screaming apes usually grab my attention best.

“Variations”
Wow cool, a gun! crank 2! batman!! I didn’t even see that crappy Luc Besson movie.
